MOWBRAY GOLF COURSE: Raapenberg Road, Mowbray - This course has been blessed with awesome views of Table Mountain.The course is well designed and provides a testing round of golf. It has also very recently been expertly reshaped and contoured and a few additional water features added. A golfer is spoilt as there are beautiful tree-lined fairways and the view from the fifteenth tee has to be seen to be believed! The approach to the clubhouse on the eighteenth hole also deserves special mention.
RONDEBOSCH GOLF COURSE: Golf Course Road, off Klipfontein Road, Rondebosch East. Visitors are most welcome at this magnificent 18 Hole champion course. The latest South African PGA Tour venue lies just 15 minutes from central Cape Town. Pro golf shop, restaurant, bar & function facilities.
Beautifully situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, these world-renowned gardens are dedicated to the preservation of the indigenous plants of Southern Africa. Some 6 000 different species are grown here, including ancient cycads and many species of protea, erica and ferns. Throughout the year, the gardens are a colourful blaze of flowers, shrubs and trees. Knowledgeable guides are available to conduct groups around the gardens The blind are catered for on the Braille Trail and in the scented garden where aromatic plants are grown. On summer evenings, concerts are held at Kirstenbosch while audiences picnic on the lawns.
Designed by Sir Herbert Baker and built in 1912 on the slopes of Devil's Peak , this memorial to Cecil John Rhodes resembles a Grecian temple. Eight bronze lions flank an imposing staircase and an equestrian statue.
